If you are a designer without an independent source of funds and you'd like to show your works during the 2006 NY Designweek, there are a few options for you. One is the Altoids LivingSpaces show, which is part of Joint Venture, which has merged with Firstop. LivingSpaces takes place in Williamsburg, and awards a $2500 prize for the most curiuosly strong designer. You can download an application for entry here.
Another option is the ICFF studio, a juried competition organized by the ICFF and Bernhardt. ANy prototype from the categories shown at ICFF is eligible for entry. Jurors will select designers who will then get free space in the ICFF Studio area, a group area with individual booths on the exhibition floor. Hurry - deadline is March 15. Download the application here.
