The Smart Ped is a smart, foldable and electric kick scooter. If you look closely, there is a white hub integrated into the rear wheel— this is where the magic happens. The motor, batteries and forward thinking sensors are all neatly integrated into the rear wheel. That means no extra cables, wires or electronics on the Smart Ped, all thanks to the modern all-in-one design.
No throttle. Just Kick Assist.
This ultimate urban ride is as simple as it is fun. One single kick and the new kick-assist system automatically turns on the electric motors and propels you further to extend your ride. The all-in-one electric motor, battery and electronics come from the Smart Wheel concept, all fitted in the rear wheel. The aluminum housing, consisting of an electro motor, battery set, electronics and forward thinking sensors, is meticulously assembled and crafted into a wonderful piece of tech.
It's Smart. The Smart Ped has a bluetooth connector and is able to communicate with you iOS or Anroid smartphone or your Pebble watch. You can lock the Smart Ped, check battery level, choose better routes, etc, all on your phone.
Another innovative feature of the Smart Ped is the so called kick assist. There is no throttle to control the speed or to control the motor, like with all the other models out there. The only way how to turn on the smart motor and to add power is by kicking with your foot. Just one kick is enough for the motor to kick in and to extend your ride by maintaining the speed you reached while kicking.
