I mean it started out medium-annoying, but as the vehicle begins to move, the pitch increase sounds like an audio cue inspiring dread in a horror movie.
I'm still holding out for the idea of vroom-tones, whereby drivers will get to choose what their e-vehicles sound like by downloading ringtone-like clips.
6 years ago VW included a "growler" on their e-golf, ahead of US requirements. It provoked discussion on one of the owners groups, first how to shut it up, second if not, over what noise it should make. Contenders included an Italian V12 at full song, a chainsaw, air cooled VW engine, a big rig diesel, but the winner of the straw poll - the sound from the 60's cartoon Jetson's flying car
As electric vehicles are relatively silent perhaps it is to get people to notice it. Hearing that coming down the road in a residential area would certainly turn heads and perhaps stop people waking out in front of it.
I think that is just the music that was added to the video.
I recently started leasing a 2019 BMW i3 and it also seems to make this type of sound. Not my video, but matches my experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Qe1wuDsXVk
