Industrial Design Student Work: Ümithan Üçok's Sneaker Packaging Doubles as Shoe Ramp
The more I look at it I realize the carton is hardly even foldable with the wall dividing the shoes. The only examples we see are renderings. Plus the extra material between the shoes completely negates the attempted environmental savings. I would imagine hardly anyone will keep a shoebox that can't be stacked on itself or closed again....
I agree with Zach's concerns about the product and about the quality of work/discourse on this forum. I'd really like to see less posts, if it means the Staff at Core77 can be a bit more selective and considered about what they choose to publish. For better or worse it's likely that design students are looking to this site for inspiration and education and it's a disservice to lower the bar for quality for future designers. Does the world need more designers making poor attempts at sustainability?
At the very least, this is a step in the right direction. Good effort.
This must be the part of the day where we all pretend to know what a shoe ramp is.
Do shoes need boxes?
Show me again how the customer easily opens the box in the store to try them on??
