Obituary for Rolf Faste, director of Stanford's Product Design Program. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 21 at Stanford University's Toyon Hall for Associate Professor Rolf Faste. Professor Faste, 59, a mechanical engineer who worked to bridge the gap between the science of engineering and the art of design, died of esophageal cancer on March 6 at his residence in Toyon Hall.
