At present, there is no clean design solution for adding a second screen to a laptop. This CrowView monitor is a prime example. While it does come with its own stand, allowing you to use it off to the side…
…the designers (from Elecrow, a Chinese company I've never heard of) have come up with this elaborate mounting system that clamps onto your laptop's screen:
It seems pretty inelegant, particularly the way the cord sticks out of the right side. This isn't something you'd use at a crowded café or on an airplane.
In these days of cheap electronics, however, it seems you don't need an elegant design or even a large market to turn a profit; the CrowView has been successfully Kickstarted, with less than 300 backers at press time and 5 days left to pledge. The going price is $115.
