That said, studs are absolutely essential for winter driving in most of Canada. They do cause a bit of extra wear and tear on the roads, but they save lives. They're also banned in some cities, but only in the few regions where ice and snow doesn't tend to build up.
Also of note, the Lacetti raced in World Touring and British Touring Car. It won races in both.
