Washup, by Sevin Coskun
Posted by StuCon | 24 Mar 2008  |  Comments (9)

washer_toilet.jpg

The Washup, designed by Sevin Coskun, solves two problems at once. It makes use of the washing machine's waste water to flush the integrated toilet at the bottom, and also puts the washing machine up above the toilet itself, saving space in small apartments. This is one of the entries from the Greener Gadgets competition - check the others in the full site.

then again, if you dropped your sock in the toilet, it would really suck.

What's that toilet paper made of?

BobNMarch 25, 2008 7:00 PM

Are those fold-up arm-rests???

LesleyMarch 25, 2008 7:44 PM

Very inventive....but I always seem to be dropping laundry as I take it out...and I just don't want to think about the consequences if I had this gadget!!

should attach the dryer as well and blow your ass away!

aqusMarch 28, 2008 11:13 PM

A much more efficient greywater approach...although composting toilets are really the way to go. The AQUS saves water in green bathrooms by recycling sink water for toilet use...

I would like to know if it's for sale or manufacturing? And how to get in touch to have more information.

Great idea in fact I was thinking along the lines myself on the fact I could use the water from my machine to flush my toilet and also somehow collect the rain water filtered down into the washing machine that too would be a added bonus.

my guess is tho only the rich would be able to aford a system that would do this in there homes! and us poor again are still kick in the teeth with the rising fule prices and water charges

OK when it comes to us all helping to save our planet the poor would have to just sick to the traditional ways of washing as we all know design like this dont come cheap enough for eveyrone to aford

if you are a plumber and reading this I would like my system changing so that my washing machine water filters up into my tank in my loft the down job is already in places

japan has something not that different you wash your hands with the same water that you flush with after.

neznor I live in a place now in the UK that I use the same water to also wash my hand brush my teeth! you may not understand plumbing however I have two tanks in my loft one for hot water and one for the toilet the same water is also use in both cold taps one at the sink the other bath sink
