Portuguese designer Luís Porém's new series of "Platonic Rugs" are precisely that: the polyhedra of the Greek philosopher's ideal realm, flattened for domestic use.
The platonic rugs collection born from the continuity of my path as a product designer. This planned representation of the 5 platonic solids acts as a bridge between the three-dimensional and two-dimensional world.Made by different tones, each colour marks one of the faces that develop the geometric figure, creating a modern and dynamic look.
The forms, unconventional, provide new possibilities in the creation of unique spaces and innovative ways of applications.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Porém's design is the multiple layers of meaning to the geometric arrangements: free association conjures trees, birds, flowers, teeth, etc.
