Brooklyn based designer Joey Roth presents his Sorapot. It is a unique, modern teapot and its architectural shape and simple functionality bring tea's quiet beauty into sharp focus. Watch Joey explain how it works.

I don't like tea, but I love Joey's jacket - any idea where it's from?
i LOVE tea and i love the idea of the filter being right before the spout, what i don't like about this design is that it looks like the things you stick your money in at the bank drive through.
the shapes a little too complex for tea, but to each his/her own.
thanks- it's by eubiq: http://www.eubiqny.com/
mmmm, tea. . . I love this project, tea is such a quintessentially British thing, and to bring it into the C21st with this object is fantastic. A great concept!
Is a great design! I hope someday see it in the stores.
Aesthetically, that's a beautiful design Joey.
My one bit of input, as an aspiring minimalist, is that this is what we unclutterer.com readers would call a "unitasker." It's really only good for one purpose: steeping/serving tea.
I wonder if you could incorporate a similar design into the tea kettle itself? Perhaps make the glass heat resistant, a la Pyrex, and you add the tea leaves to the pot after boiling.
I personally wouldn't want to take up my limited cupboard/countertop space with this AND a tea kettleno matter how beautiful it may be. :-/
Great work and love to see different approaches!
