Objects can often become so ubiquitous that we no longer question their form. The testimony of time shields such relics from the scrutiny and skepticism that we subject new products to.
Nail clippers, for example, have barely changed since the Industrial Revolution—which is bizarre considering the mess they can often leave your nails in and the fact that they spray their cuttings everywhere.
"Klhip" is out to change this with what they're calling "the ultimate clipper". The idea is simple. Re-engineer the cutter so that the pressure is applied directly on the nail and catch the cuttings as you go. The matt surgical steel finish and clever brand identity also give an added touch of class to the nail cutting experience.

Where can I buy one?
fail...
now there are to transmission-points...
plus it occupies more room if it is in "non-use-mode".
and it is not a simple metal-sheet construction....
fail, fail, fail
There have been nail clippers that don't spray nail shards all over the place for a long time now. I don't think this new design solves a problem that wasn't already solved. It looks cool though.
And this little guy will set you back $50. Ouch.
Reminds me of the Stylfile - an S-shaped nail file. A simple innovation that finally updated the classic nail file. Or the neat new folding plug design by Min-Kyu Choi. There are so many products we forget to question and just assume they're finished. Khlip is a nice example of the importance of not assuming something is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. Unfortunate though that they apparently didn't think to etch the name the other way to match the clipper's 'good' side for photos.
Wow, I'm always most impressed when the mundane is so completely rethought. I would love to try it out, but I just don't see it catching on with a price tag of $50(!)
for a 50 dollar clipper I would like to see some video to prove that clippings don't spray all over. My cheap clippers with thin metal cover collects all my clippings. Sure it doesn't look nearly as cool though.
reminds me of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZw3qpnaK3o
