Dennis Parren's CMYK Lamp
Tucked in a corner of the basement of Spazio Rossana Orlandi's magical exhibition space, we found Dennis Parren's Colourful Mysteries of Light. The two lighting fixtures, a wall light and a pendant lamp, projected a mysterious rainbow of colors that the Eindhoven graduate explained is, "designed not to be understood but to show that light is the only rightful owner of colour."
We wrote about Parren's CMYK lamp last year during Dutch Design Week but were excited to see his new RGB pendant lamp casting a constellation of red, green and blue stars on the ceiling.
For those of you who remember our coverage of the CMYK lamp might recall that the rays of light from the CMYK lamp cast 3D shadows which caused quite a stir at his graduation show this past year. Although there were no 3D glasses at this particular exhibition, we'll have to trust Parren when he tells us that, "It's like standing inside the lamp!"

Thanks for the publication. I would like to add something on my own lamp, the RGB galaxy, because not everybody seems to have noticed it.
The lamp can be turned. If so, the stars will move indepently. It seems to be three-dimensional. Like your standing in a moving galaxy. But then a brightly colored version. :-)
I have made a movie of it.

What I also would like to notice is that RGB galaxy comes without 3D glasses. The 3D effect works only with the CMYK lamp.
Kind regards,
Dennis Parren
