This is pretty bad: the people behind Wasp Injector Knife have come up with a way to blow compressed air through the blade of a knife.
Can someone please tell us: What purpose could this thing possibly serve?
thanks larry!

I was curious, so I looked at the product description from their site. Basically, it sounds like this knife allows you to kill your diving partner underwater and return to the surface without attracting sharks.
As divers, we all know what the effects of compressed gas are underwater. Our training teaches us that our lungs would burst from over-inflation if we held our breath and rose to the surface. This principle is key to the effectiveness of the WASP Injection System.
This weapon injects a freezing cold ball of compressed gas, approximately the size of a basketball, at 800psi nearly instantly. The effects of this injection will drop many of the world's largest land predators. The effects of the compressed gas not only cause over-inflation during ascent when used underwater, but also freezes all tissues and organs surrounding the point of injection on land or at sea. When used underwater, the injected gas carries the predator to the surface BEFORE blood is released into the water. Thus giving the diver added protection by diverting other potential predators to the surface.
It looks great for slicing melons! I want one.
you can kill a grizzly bear or a shark with a single stab. it is of course if you'll be quick enough to press the button.
This is completely insane
I found what Rob wrote and it makes total sense. It wouldn't make much sense OUT of the water...but it really could save one's life. I also like the fact that it rises the predator before the blood comes out so you don't have to swim in blood, which attracts more predators.
It's really quite a good idea, although its uses are limited.
Could also save an elephant from a collapsed lung... ;)
